Associate Pastor of Evangelism & Missions

As part of the pastoral team, John coordinates evangelism ministries for a growing church of over 3,100 members. John is very busy in counseling ministries and is one of the staff representatives to the Missions Commission. He is thoroughly committed to supporting and developing a dynamic missions emphasis and outreach at Weddington Church to proclaim Jesus as Lord in Union County, the state of North Carolina and throughout the world. He enjoys being actively involved in the church's teaching ministry throughout the year.

Education:

His undergraduate degree is in Biblical Education from Hobe Sound Bible College, Hobe Sound, FL. and he earned his Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, KY in 1989.

Previous Ministries:

John served as pastor of The Lake and River Parish from 1989-1995 and Oswego First United Methodist Church from 1995-2000 in upstate New York before joining the staff at Weddington Church in April 2000.

Married to Barbara since 1983, they have two children; Catherine and Jeremy as well as a Cocker Spaniel (Emily) and an inquisitive cat (April).
