Accompanist

Dr. Paul Morell, the father of Shana Stadler, married Kay and Charles at Tyler Street United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. Brother Paul, affectionately called, was one day to be their pastor in the ministry. They served together at First United Methodist Church, Carrollton, Texas. Kay's dad and mother were Music Editors of Stamp-Baxter Southern Gospel Music Publishing Company. The families' usual Sunday morning would begin with a trip to the local radio station in Dallas, singing at 6 a.m. There was no taped music in the 1940's and 1950's. The Fossett family traveled extensively throughout the U.S. teaching 'singing schools' in churches of all denominations. Kay's children live in Texas, and all three are equally talented and active in music ministry. Ken and his family are involved in the praise band at Faithbridge United Methodist Church. Melody is a teacher of voice and piano in a Christian school. Brian and his family are active in leading worship at Vista Ridge Bible Church in Lewisville, Texas. When able to get in the same place at the same time, the Mathews family enjoys singing and playing instrumens together.

Family
Kay Fossett Mathews is a multi-talented musician. She is organist, pianist, vocalist, conductor and teacher. She assists Charles, her husband, in creating worship services, planning hymn medleys, working with soloists and ensembles as well as performing in concerts.

Kay's home church is Tyler Street United Methodist Church, where she grew to love the Lord and His Church. As a young girl, she attended confirmation classes, but did not truly realize that she needed to be born again until she watched a Billy Graham crusade in her home. Kay knelt and prayed for Jesus to save her and be Lord of her life. Spending her childhood and teen years in traveling around the country with her parents, assisting them in teaching voice, music theory, piano and sight-singing gave her a wide background in music. She met people from many denominations. Her love for people is obviously seen in her interest as she encourages people in their walk with the Lord.
