Many recommend that new Christians begin their study of the Bible with John’s gospel. Have you ever wondered why? When you know and can understand all that Jesus did, the other books of the Bible – even the Old Testament – will make much more sense. As we study John’s account of Jesus’ life and ministry, the Old Testament’s predictions about Jesus as the coming Messiah become far easier to recognize and understand.
As Christians, our faith is rooted in the life and miracles of Jesus. His sacrifice for us on the cross is a profound gift of pure love. His resurrection is our hope for eternal life. A deeper dive into the book of John is a great place to start studying the Bible – and a great way to deepen our faith and understanding.
