Holy Week and Easter
We invite you and your family to join us this Holy Week as we journey with Jesus to the cross and celebrate the Risen Christ!
Palm Sunday We begin our celebration of Holy Week on Palm Sunday (March 28) in the Weddington Campus Sanctuary at 9:00 a.m., in the Family Life Center at 11:00 a.m., at the Monroe Campus at 6:00 p.m., and online. Join us for this special Sunday celebrating Christ’s entry to Jerusalem featuring a live donkey and the waving of the palms! Please note, due to the inclement weather forecast, the 11:00 a.m. outdoor service has been moved inside the Family Life Center. Registration is required for indoor worship. On Palm Sunday we will also celebrate our confirmands with a special Confirmation Service and reception at 4:00 p.m. on the fields behind the Family Life Center. All are welcome to join and celebrate this milestone for our youth and their families.
Holy Thursday (April 1) will be held in the Weddington Campus Sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. as well as online. This service will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion. If you are joining us for online worship, we invite you to come prepared with bread and juice. Registration is required for indoor worship. Click here to register.
Good Friday (April 2) will be held outside on the field behind the Family Life Center at 7:00 p.m. as well as online. We will also have a bilingual service at the Monroe Campus at 6:00 p.m. We invite you to join us on Good Friday for this powerful worship experience.
Easter Sunday (April 4), we will begin our celebration of the Risen Christ with a Sunrise Service at 7:00 a.m. at the cemetery entrance on Providence Road. This service will be held rain or shine. We ask that you please park in the Weddington Corners Shopping Center or in the Sanctuary parking lot and walk to the cemetery parking lot.
We will continue our Easter Celebration with services at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. outdoors on the fields behind the Family Life Center (weather permitting). Both outdoor services will combine traditional and praise & worship elements and music. We invite you to bring your blankets and chairs and join us for a memorable outdoor worship experience. We will also have a special Easter Sunday online worship service as well as a bilingual service at 6:00 p.m. at the Monroe Campus.
We invite you to bring flowers on Easter Sunday to adorn the cross that will be at the Weddington Campus for our Easter services, sponsored by the Lucy Price Circle. This is a great opportunity for family Easter pictures!
Additional Information
– Outdoor worship is weather permitting. Any updates will be posted on our website, church app, and social media pages.
– Registration is required for indoor worship at Weddington. Please register your attendance for each service on the website.
– Childcare will not be provided for any of our Holy Week services. All are welcome at our services and we encourage you to worship together as a family. Worship bags will be available for children.
– Online Worship will be available for each service on Vimeo. Videos can be accessed through our website, Facebook, and the church app.
– Out of love for our neighbor, we will wear our masks for indoor services and social distancing should be practiced at all times. We encourage you to continue to worship with us online if you have any concerns or hesitation of being physically together.
– We realize we have different comfort levels and health vulnerabilities during this season of our lives. As we join together for in-person worship out of love and respect for our neighbor, we ask that you read and agree to our In-Person Worship Covenant.
