Policies

Registration for the 2023-2024 school year will begin on January 3, 2023 using the process described on the Registration page.

Please Note:  North Carolina kindergarten age admission requires that a child turn 5 years old by August 31. Children must be age appropriate by August 31, 2023 to enroll in the 2, 3, or 4 year old programs for the 2023-2024 school year.

TK requirements: 5 years old by 08/31/23 and/or completion of a 4-year-old preschool program.  Age exceptions may be considered for the child whose track has been established under other state guidelines and if the child has completed a 4 year old preschool program. Please contact the WCP Office for more information.

Non-Refundable Registration Fee: $130.00 first child/$105.00 second (or third) child.

All children enrolled at WCP must be current with North Carolina state immunization requirements.  WCP does not accept any waivers for immunizations. Please contact the WCP office if you have any questions.

All children attending WCP for the first time must have a Children’s Medical Report and Immunization Record on file in the appropriate preschool office by the first day of the target school year.  The Children’s Medical Report may be printed from this website.

The Children’s Medical Report and Immunization Record will remain on file at WCP for the duration of the child’s enrollment in the WCP program.

Any changes in a child’s health status must be reported immediately to the preschool.  At that time the family may be asked to submit updated forms.

Wait lists are numbered in the order the calls are received. However, once classes are set, we will go to the next child who appears to be the best fit by birth date or gender for that specific class.  This is to ensure that all children are placed in the environment that provides the most opportunities for success.  Please see the entire WCP Wait List Policy here.

In order to maintain adult – child ratios and provide the safest possible environment for our preschoolers only children currently registered at WCP may attend field trips organized by the preschool.  Please see the WCP Parent handbook for the number of chaperones required for each age level.

WCP does not transport children in vehicles for field trips.  Any field trip site not within walking distance of the school will require parents or caregivers to provide transportation.

A Permission Slip must be signed by a parent or caregiver and turned in to the classroom teacher for a child to attend a WCP Field Trip.

We LOVE to have parents and caregivers join us for field trips! Please watch announcements and calendars for dates.
