He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary with a focus in marriage and family counseling. He was ordained a Deacon in 1988 and an Elder in 1991. Terry began his ministry at Weddington Methodist Church in February 2008. He is also sworn in as a chaplain in the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Rev. Dr. Brad Hopper

Associate Pastor

The Rev. Dr. Brad Hopper grew up in Greensboro, NC and then earned his bachelor’s degree from Mary Washington College, his MA from Asbury Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Duke Divinity School.  He has been in ministry since the age of 22.  In addition to time in the local church, Brad has served with Youth with a Mission (YWAM), Mercy Ships, and South America Mission.

Brad is passionate about building a bridge between the church and the world.  He desires for all to embrace their God-given calling and to see Christian leaders developed so that the work of God is carried out globally.

He loves spending time with his wife Jennie and their two children, traveling, kayaking, hiking, going to Disney and all things soccer–playing, coaching, and supporting Liverpool FC.

Rev. Patsy Sorrell

Adult Discipleship Pastor

The Rev. Patsy Sorrell has a deep love for Jesus and a passion for discipleship. She grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, attended Iowa State University, and earned her Master of Divinity from Northern Seminary in Lisle, Illinois.

Throughout her ministry, Patsy has served three Methodist congregations, with a particular focus on discipleship, care ministries, and empowering servant leaders. She is passionate about helping people know God more deeply, experience God’s love, grace, and forgiveness, and intentionally live out their faith in practical, everyday ways.

Patsy and her husband, Bob, moved to the Charlotte area in 2015 and are grateful to be part of a Christ-centered church family. Together, they have five children and a growing number of grandchildren who bring joy and laughter to their lives. In her free time, Patsy enjoys gardening, trying new recipes, and spending time outdoors.
