Why Should We Question Our Faith?

Jun 14, 2026    The Rev. Dr. Terry Moore

Is it wrong to question God? What happens when faith meets doubt, confusion, or unanswered questions?

In the opening message of our new summer series, But Why? Honest Questions. Biblical Answers., Pastor Terry explores a question many Christians quietly wrestle with: Should we question our faith? Looking at Jeremiah 33:3, Proverbs 3:5, and examples from throughout Scripture, we discover that God is not threatened by our questions. In fact, He invites them.

From David and Job to Moses and Habakkuk, the Bible is filled with faithful people who brought their hardest questions directly to God. Rather than pushing them away, God welcomed the conversation. Genuine faith is not the absence of questions—it is trusting God enough to bring those questions to Him.

If you've ever wondered why God allows suffering, struggled with doubt, wrestled with unanswered prayers, or felt afraid to ask difficult spiritual questions, this message offers encouragement and hope. God desires a real relationship, not a superficial one, and honest conversations are part of growing deeper in faith.
