Women’s Bible Study

Tuesday, 10:00-11:30 a.m. in Hemby House – Room 3

November 1 – December 20

Led by Joyce Harkey

The Characters of Christmas is a Bible study designed to take a fresh look at the Christmas story by getting to know the minor characters that played a part in Jesus’ birth, such as Zechariah and Elizabeth, the Shepherds, and Herod. As we slow down, engage our imagination, and enter into the stories of these men and women, we will see the most important character—Jesus Christ—with new eyes. Join us as we take a fresh look and discover new insights into God’s amazing and miraculous story of his son, Jesus.

Jesus in the Gospels invites believers to look at Jesus in each of the four Gospels and ask the question, “Who is the Jesus that you see?”  You will study the names, the places, and the people – and encounter Jesus, who is both hard to ignore and hard to control, as portrayed in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The group meets for 30 weeks and is a second generation Disciple Bible Study. Please note:

  • Jesus in the Gospels Workbook & Gospel Comparisons are $58.00 and will be available on the first day of the study.

During this study we will walk through Paul’s powerful letter to the church in Rome and see the glorious grace and transforming work of the gospel. We are sure to be overwhelmed with the good news of God’s merciful rescue as we seek to better understand the depth of our need. This life-changing message provides not only hope for eternity, but purpose, joy, and peace for today. May the good news of the gospel of grace as it unfolds in Romans compel us to proclaim God’s glorious salvation to all. Please note:

  • This 9-session Bible study begins on September 7.
  • This study will meet in-person with an online option.
  • Please purchase your workbook beforehand and bring with you to the first session.
  • Free childcare is available when registering your child(ren) at the time of your registration.
