Devoted: seeing sin in
February 22–March 22
Sundays, 5:30–7:15 p.m., Weddington Fellowship Hall
Led by Rev. Patsy Sorrell
Lent invites us to slow down, tell the truth, and open ourselves more fully to God’s love and grace. Too often, conversations about sin have been shaped by guilt, shame, or fear—leaving many of us unsure how honesty with God could possibly lead to freedom. Yet Scripture tells a different story.
In this five-week Lenten series, we will explore what the Bible truly teaches about sin—not as something that drives us into hiding, but as a shared human condition that God meets with mercy, healing, and hope. As we grow in a deeper understanding of sin, we also come to know who God is and who we are in a new and life-giving light.
Together, we will discover that God names sin not to condemn us, but to restore us; not to burden us with shame, but to free us for love. Through Scripture, reflection, prayer, and conversation, we will see how grace always comes first—awakening us to truth, healing what is broken, and shaping us into more fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
This Lenten journey is for anyone longing for honest faith, deeper spiritual understanding, and a more gracious relationship with God and themselves. Whether you are new to faith, returning with questions, or seeking to grow deeper in discipleship, this series offers a thoughtful, hope-filled invitation to step into the light of God’s grace and to discover the freedom, wholeness, and devotion it makes possible.
Each session includes dinner and fellowship, Biblical teaching, and small group discussions to help us love God and others from the heart.
Please register by February 18. Childcare is available.
